About Me and IYP

  • Who Is Indie Yellow Pages?
I love crafts and thought I would sell my goods on the internet. Unfortunately, due to my full-time job in the architecture realm, I was unable to spend enough time making anything. Darn! Anyhoo, this didn't stop me from drooling over all of the cool stuff other designer/crafters were creating. I wanted to find a way to share with everyone all of the great finds that were handmade and unique. Indie Yellow pages was created to spread the word about these independent designers and the wonderful products they create and sell. I hope you get hooked on indie and come back again and again!

Feedback

Ok.  So I know I haven't posted anything in a really long time.  And I know I make lots of excuses.  But I have been wondering this - should I morph my blog and Indie Yellow Pages site into one?  I don't see why not.  It's pretty much one in the same.  Don't you think so?  I need your crafty feedback.  What do you want to see and what kind of information do you want?  What are you looking for when you visit indie websites and blogs?  "Help me....help you!"  Work with me people.  And don't comment on my lack of posts...I know that is my major downfall.  I want to work on it.  Give me some insight please!

A series of questions will be asked every few minutes.  The first person to respond with a correct answer to the thread will receive 4 points, the second person will receive 3 points, the third person will receive 2 points and any other person thereafter with a correct answer will receive 1 point.  At the end of the game, the points will be tallied and the winners will be announced.  For more information, visit www.cgge.org.

Caithness Coast Scarf

UntitledFall and winter will be upon us sooner than we think.  Be prepared to get rid of the chill with this handmade knitted Caithness Coast Scarf  in moss/terracotta by Victoria Jackman.  The organic forms of this design were inspired by the textures and colors of the Scottish Highlands.  I will take Victoria's word on that since I have never been to the Scottish Highlands.  But if the Highlands are as beautiful as her designs, it's a definite must on my places I would like to visit.

Mini Foods

Milo who resides in Torino, Italy creates the most awesome miniature foods.  They look so real and yet are so tiny!  The miniature pasta bowls are my favorite followed by the stuffed peppers.  Visit milo and her miniature foods on her blog Minicaretti.  And if you can't read Italian, don't ask me!  I can barely speak English on most days.

Hyacinth Dragons

The Copper Dragon is a must for dragon lovers everywhere.  This set of feather pens are made from dark blue and black Hyacinth macaw wing feathers that are hand-painted with flying dragons. Apparently these Hyacinth macaw feathers are a rare find and extremely pricey.  Don't worry animal lovers, these pens were made using 100% naturally moulted feathers.
